Job Description: Supply Chain Support Clerk

 

Purpose:

The Supply Chain Support Clerk will assist with aspects of the Materials and scheduling functions and will be hands on in assisting within all aspects of the supply chain. With direction from the Scheduler Planner and Buyers, they will be relied upon for product availability inquiries, schedule changes, expediting and processing purchase confirmations through the business system.  

                                                                                                                

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Schedule and confirm sales orders to meet customer requirements in coordination with material availability and production capacity.
  • Assists with purchase order confirmations through communication with other Buyers and the supplier base.  This may result in researching options for rescheduling product based on demands.
  • Assists the Product Availability /Lead Time Request Queue within the business system and communicate best available with cause or contributor details.
  • Assists Scheduler Planner in communicating all impacted production schedule changes to Production Scheduling Personnel. .
  • Backup to several material positions including Planner, Buyer and Inventory Specialist in duties involving inventory cycle counts and engineering change administration.
  • Assists the Master Scheduler to prepare reports, analyze manufacturing progress, efficiencies, and capabilities.
  • Assists in maintaining corporate analysis, activities and reporting of conflict mineral controls as required by the SEC.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Interacts with all Materials positions, sales, shipping and production
  • Reports to Supply Chain Manager

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of automated materials planning through the use of ERP.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, specifically Microsoft Excel

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma required.
  • 6 months to a 1 year of demonstrated success in an administrative or customer service function

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in a related field.
