Coordinates and expedites the flow of material through production operations in accordance with production schedules and customer delivery dates. Re-schedule sales orders that pertain to capacity and supplier issues.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
• Creates, modifies, and updates short- and long-term production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Conducts daily production meetings to communicate proper resource allocation and utilization to meet on-time delivery requirements.
• Optimizes use of manpower, equipment, and time to reduce costs and meet scheduling requirements.
• Generates overall schedules and departmental schedules to be used in production planning.
• Re-schedule sales orders as it pertains to changes due to supplier delinquency and capacity issues in Shipping and Production.
• Communicate with purchasing on availability of packaging.
• Work directly with Production Supervisor to assure component reservations for next planned period are communicated and resolved.
• Make decisions to change production schedule based on inventory, demand, capacity, and material availability.
• Assist in the implementation of engineering changes in accordance with assigned procedures.
• Work closely with Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing and Sales to resolve any production questions and problems.
• Report on key performance indicators as it pertains to this position.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• Thorough knowledge of process job-shop operations.
• Experience using scheduling software.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while performing with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
• Knowledge of company production capabilities.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with other departments, customers, and suppliers.
• Understanding of MRP.
• Ability to work independently with minimal amount of daily direct supervision required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years old
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in Production Planning/Scheduling and or 5 years prioritizing production schedule in an electro-mechanical OEM company

Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of product structure and bills of materials for a multilayer indented BOM.
• Coursework or certification in professional organization such as APICS
• Familiar with the ERP system IFS
